Our Pillars

HBI facilitates a diverse range of projects and programs - all of which are built on four pillars: training, consulting, connecting, and serving. We know that cultivating lasting relationships is an ongoing effort. We work to assure the bridges we build are strong, sustainable, and supportive for our partners.

Training
HBI equips and trains healthcare professionals to better serve communities of need. Our training conferences/workshops support the collegial exchange of best practices and evidence based ideas for advancing care delivery to marginalized and underserved communities. We partner with academic institutions, work alongside private sector organizations, and collaborate with government agencies to offer the highest caliber trainings and professional development seminars in subjects ranging from Trauma Informed Care to Emergency Medical Services. Over the years, HBI has been privileged to work with some of the top health professions training institutions in Latin America, the United States and Western Europe.

Consulting
HBI develops effective in-country partnerships among organizations, groups, and individuals who advocate for and deliver services to communities of need. We help structure sustainable community  programs by consulting with various government, not-for-profit, and faith-based organizations. We work as consultants on local challenges, resource acquisition, and program development ideas. Our goal is to empower our in-country partners to identify and master the skills and knowledge they need to effectively manage subsequent challenges.

Connecting

HBI connects resource to need. The economic and cultural divide that exists between the rich and poor of the world has never been greater. Today, millions of lives are in a constant state of struggle. We believe in the power of bringing together resources through the development of coalitions and partnerships. We seek to identify clear mechanisms for connecting resources to needs and building bridges for change.

Serving
HBI believes that in-country and local health providers are the best people to take care of their own communities. To this end, we work with local providers to identify the resources they need to best meet the health needs of their communities. We work with local providers and organizations to advance the knowledge of care givers, build networks of collaborations in order to deliver the highest quality health and human services. We work hand in hand with our partners to offer a range of health related services focused on the unique, and often complex, needs of marginalized communities.
