![]() It's hard to believe we are already well into 2017. So far this year we've had two big teams in Peru with the HBI staff working on service learning projects. Dr. Gehringer has been busy training trainers on neonatal resuscitation under our convenio (agreement) with the Peruvian College of Midwives. We've been busy working on the Emergency Medicine project and plan to have the first trainings for the trainer cohort in April or May. And, we've been busy with our Street Youth Coalition project - where we are working with a group of Peruvian NGOs based out of Lima to develop and offer ongoing facilitation for a coalition of organizations working with youth on the streets. We will be meeting with over 100 programs in early March to demonstrate a new website we've develop to help programs connect. Check out the website at: http://juntosvamos.org All of that, and its only the end of February. One big project that looms large is a new partnership with a Bolivian group (Juntos) called the Street Youth Empowerment Project. We will be holding a fundraiser in Pittsburgh, PA in April (April 8th from 7-9 pm at 428 North Craig Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213). If you're interested in getting more information about the fundraiser - contact Ms. Alexis Vargas at: alexisvargas85@gmail.com Finally, early Spring is the time we hold our annual Andina Fundraiser. This year marks our 8th Annual Bridge to Change event and we are looking forward to a fantastic evening at Portland's world renowned Andina Restaurant. The dates are May 8 and 9 and a "Save the Date" reminder will be going out soon. For now, you can learn more about the event from the 2016 invite - ![]()
